Cleaning & Hygiene Distributors Ltd was formed in 1997 by the current owners and Directors, Paul Garvey and Alan Hall, along with a third partner/director, Graham Ward.
The Company's growth has been built on its ability to supply competitively priced quality products and it's commitment to giving a first class service to its customer base. We believe we offer an unrivalled level of customer service in the Staffordshire postcode area and this, coupled with our personal approach and flexibility means we are at the top of the local ladder for prompt delivery of our customer's requirements. We are able to go that extra mile and often deliver goods to end users on behalf of contract cleaning companies that buy from us.
Being from Scotland, Paul is not involved in the day-to-day running of the business, but with a background in Financial Accountancy, he keeps an eye on things, receiving regular updates on important areas of the company.
Alan was originally the Sales Director, spending his time out on the road, whilst Graham ran the business on a day-to-day basis from the offices.
Following Graham's retirement, Alan has become the Company M.D, and his son Steven joined the Company as General Manager, taking the reins from Graham in November 2006.
With Alan's daughter, Julie managing the Administration side of the business, this really is a family concern, and we hope that shows through in our general dealings with people.
The company was originally based in Crewe, Cheshire, where it seemed there would be plenty of room for sustained growth, but after starting with a small local customer base the service level and range of products on offer soon attracted more business, and the premises were quickly outgrown.
A separate storage facility was built alongside the warehouse to accommodate additional stock, but in 2001 the tender for Staffordshire Count Council and Stoke on Trent City Council janitorial products was successful, and once again, the premises were found to be simply too small.
Relocation was necessary, and due to the bulk of the business being in Staffordshire, the Directors took the opportunity to move to Burslem, being nearer to the A500, A34 and general link-roads to the City.
CHD Ltd has continued to be successful in tendering for this contract and is still the Councils nominated supplier. Further additions to this business have been contracts with Lichfield District Council, East Staffs Borough Council and Newcastle Borough Council to name a few, and we constantly exceed our contractual obligations on delivery requirements.
